Anti-Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a serious crime and violation of human rights, involving force, coercion, or fraud to exploit a person into slave labor or sexual exploitation. In Arizona alone, hundreds of new cases are reported every year, often with victims who are teens or young children.

Southwest Network’s Human Trafficking Survivor Program helps stop victimization and promote healing. Led by actual human trafficking survivors, the program provides deep insight and understanding for what individuals and their families go through – and more important, what they need to prevail.

Through trauma-informed interventions and services, victimized youth gain the strength to extricate themselves from the lifestyle of trafficking and exploitation. They also gain advocacy from Southwest Network practitioners to navigate complex systems such as law enforcement, child welfare, and the courts.

Since launching the Human Trafficking Survivor Program in 2019, our team has worked with more than 100 survivors (the youngest being just 11) — helping them find hope, independence, and recovery. Through a generous grant from Banner Health, we have recently expanded to offer more services and extend our reach across Greater Phoenix.

Individuals starting the program in their teens can continue on with Southwest Network as an adult.
